 Día de los Muertos Parade Workshops 2011 THANK YOU TOO ALL THE ARTISTS and VOLUNTEERS Who came out to help build the Second Annual Dia de los Muertos PARADE!!!!! ¡GRACIAS TAMBIÉN TODOS LOS ARTISTAS y VOLUNTARIOS Que salieron para ayudar a construir el Segundo DESFILE de Dia de los Muertos Anual!!!!! The Milwaukee Mijas would like to THANK Milwaukee Public Theatre's Grand Venue space in the Shoppes at Grand Avenue Mall, for supporting their goal of making a parade this Year. We had almost 200 volunteers and artists helping us. Along with entire Familias, students, Teachers, Mothers, Fathers, Artists, Film makers, and community groups like Walker's Point Center for the Arts, Youth Empowered in the Struggle (Yes!), The School of Media and Creative Arts: Milwaukee Area Technical College Professor David Thomas, photography students from Marquette University, and more. Tuvimos casi 200 voluntarios y artistas para ayudarnos. Junto con todo Families, estudiantes, maestros, padres, madres, artistas, cineastas, y grupos de la comunidad como punto de Walker Centro para las Artes, Following the parade will be a performance and blessing by The Azteca Dancers from Ballet Folklorico Hermanos de Avila. Cookies, Coffee and Coco will be provided. Also all the art and puppets and ofrenditas will be on display in the park for all to enjoy. We are inviting everyone to enjoy the neighbor’s ofrendas they will build on their porches and in their yards. Last year this was a big highlight of the parade. MAP ROUTE: 2011 Meet at Walker Square Park at 9th and Mineral across from The United Community Center at 1028 South 9th Street. Staging at 4pm. Then the Parade will start at 5pm. We will leave Walker Square Park and head west on Mineral one block, then turn left on 10th street one block(circling the park) then turn left on Washington and head east 6 blocks till we come to 5th street where we then turn left, head north on 5th street 2 blocks till we meet the Walker's Point Center for the Arts, located at 839 South 5th street. Then we will march back to Walker Square Park taking the same route back. Ending at Walker Square Park. (The parade is entirely on the sidewalk). RUTA DE MAPA: 2011 Encuéntrese en parque Walker Square en 9no y Mineral a través del Centro social Unido en 1028 calle 9 Sur. Organización a las 16:00. Entonces el Desfile comenzará a las 17:00. Dejaremos parque Walker Square y encabezaremos el Oeste en el Mineral un bloque, luego daremos vuelta a la izquierda en la calle 10 un bloque (rodeando el parque) entonces da vuelta a la izquierda en Washington y encabeza 6 bloques del este antes de que vengamos a la calle 5 donde entonces damos vuelta a la izquierda, encabezamos el norte en la calle 5 2 bloques antes de que encontremos(cumplamos) el Centro de Punto del Paseante de las Artes, localizadas en 839 calle 5 Sur. Entonces vamos marzo atrás a parque Walker Square que devuelve la misma ruta. Final en parque Walker Square. (El desfile está completamente en la acera).     |
